This is a simple method for manufacturing moonshine with your electric pressure cooker (Instant Pot®). It is really smooth the first night and something that many of your friends will desire. I'm not sure how long it lasts, but I've been keeping it in my pantry and drinking from it for almost three months. However, most batches do not survive very long!
Fired-Up Pineapple Upside Down Cake
Ingredients
- 5 cups water.
- 1 (750 milliliter) bottle of cake-flavored vodka.
- 1 1/2 pounds of fresh pineapple spears.
- 2 cups white sugar.
Directions
Step 1
In a pressure cooker with several functions (such as the Instant Pot®), combine the water, vodka, pineapple, and sugar. Close and lock the lid. Set the timer for 30 minutes and use the high pressure setting as directed by the manufacturer. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for the pressure to develop.
Step 2
Follow the manufacturer's directions to release pressure naturally, which should take around 40 minutes.
Step 3
Remove the pineapple from the saucepan. Blend until smooth, then pour it back in. Stir once. Pour moonshine into sterilized bottles and keep in a dark area. Chill before serving.
Cook's Notes:
Because of the alcohol, avoid placing your pressure cooker near an open flame. You must employ the natural, not the quick-release, manner.
